SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Horace Allan Napp of
4 Godfrey on Saturday, January 10, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Napp was born on June 22, 1929, in Godfrey to
6 Horace P. and Hallie (Hausman) Napp; he attended Alton High
7 School, Shurtleff College, and SIU Edwardsville; and
 
8     WHEREAS, During the Korean War, Mr. Napp served with the
9 U.S. Corps of Engineers in Inchon from 1951 to 1953; he married
10 Ramona Renfro on May 10, 1953, in Alton; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mr. Napp was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass
12 Company in Alton and Owens-Illinois International Division in
13 Toledo, Ohio, retiring in 1985 after 37 years of service; after
14 retirement, he continued part-time assignments with the
15 International Division as overseas consultant and technical
16 advisor; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Napp was a past member of the Alton-Godfrey
18 Lions Club, and served as a Godfrey Volunteer Fire Department
19 member, a Godfrey Khoury League volunteer, a member of the
20 Onized Club, and a Junior Achievement sponsor; he was a member
21 of the Godfrey Community Congregational United Church of
22 Christ, where he served as a member of the Diaconate; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of Horace Allan Napp has been deeply
24 felt by many, especially his wife, Ramona; his son and wife,
25 Allan L. and Kyle Anne Napp; his grandchildren, Ian, Aiden, and
26 Grace Napp; the citizens of Godfrey; and his sister, Mary E.
27 Blanchhard; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 Horace Allan Napp, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his
2 friends, family, community, and all who knew and loved him; and
3 be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Horace Allan Napp as an expression
6 of our sincerest condolences during their time of bereavement.
