SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with shock and regret of the death of PFC Scott Matthew
4 Tyrrell, U.S. Army, on Thursday, November 20, 2003, from
5 injuries received in Iraq; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Scott Matthew Tyrrell was born on June 20, 1982 in
7 Aurora to Arnold Tyrrell and Susan Alcorn Tyrrell; and
 
8     WHEREAS, PFC Tyrrell attended Freeman Elementary School,
9 where his mother was a teacher until the family moved to Mount
10 Morris, where he graduated from Sterling High School in 2000;
11 and
 
12     WHEREAS, PFC Tyrrell served with the U.S. Army during the
13 Afghanistan conflict as a member of the Special Forces; he was
14 a member of the U.S. Army 299th Charlie Company; and
 
15     WHEREAS, PFC Tyrrell was devoted to the U.S. Army and
16 became a new person after he served in Afghanistan; he was a
17 happier person; his service in the U.S. Army helped him find
18 pride in himself; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of PFC Scott Matthew Tyrrell has been
20 deeply felt by many, especially his mother, Susan Tyrrell; his
21 father and step mother, Arnold (Kathleen) Tyrrell; his maternal
22 grandmother, Ida Mae Alcorn; his paternal grandmother, Mary
23 Tyrrell; his sister, Kelly (Mike) Zitelman; his brother, Joseph
24 Tyrrell; his niece and nephews; his aunts and uncles, Peg
25 Rhodes, Pat Johnson, Greg (Cynthia) Alcorn, Ann (Jim) Savage,
26 Roger Alcorn, Nancy (Robert) Kell, Jane (Jim) Pauly, and Mary
27 Beth (Chris) Mitchell; and his many cousins; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 PFC Scott Matthew Tyrrell, U.S. Army, and we extend our
2 sincerest condolences to his friends, family, and all who knew
3 and loved him; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of PFC Scott Matthew
5 Tyrrell and his willingness to serve his country, which led to
6 him making the ultimate sacrifice, the giving of his life; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of PFC Scott Matthew Tyrrell as an
10 expression of our deepest sympathy.
