 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The members of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  learned with regret of the death of Betty Joseph of
 4    East Peoria on Thursday, October 30, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Joseph was born  on  January  6,  1918,  in
 6    Tripoli,  Lebanon,  to  Dumeet  Mikhael and Asma Assaad Hanna
 7    Deeb Tamer; she married Mike  Joseph  on  July  21,  1935  in
 8    Tripoli; he preceded her in death on December 31, 1985; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Joseph  was a member of the Itoo Society;
10    she was a member of St. Sharbel Maronite Church in Peoria and
11    St. Monica's Catholic Church of East Peoria; and

12        WHEREAS, The passing of Mrs. Joseph has been deeply  felt
13    by  many,  especially her sons, Maurice (and Norma) and David
14    (and Sharyn); her sisters, Linda Accari and Haifa  Azar;  her
15    14  grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren; therefore,
16    be it

17        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
18    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
19    of Betty Joseph, and we extend our sincerest  condolences  to
20    her family and friends; and be it further

21        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
22    presented to the family of Mrs. Joseph as  an  expression  of
23    our deepest sympathy.
