 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened to learn of the death of Gerald Wilt
 4    of Walnut on June 23, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Wilt  was  born  on  November  25,  1925  in
 6    Manlius  Township,  the  son  of Martin F. and Leona (Claeys)
 7    Wilt; he was united in marriage  to  Dolores  J.  Swanson  in
 8    Walnut  on  February 15, 1948; he served in the United States
 9    Navy on  the  U.S.S.  LaSalle  in  the  Pacific  Theatre  and
10    participated  in  many battles during World War II; he farmed
11    in the Walnut area during his lifetime; and

12        WHEREAS, Mr. Wilt was  a  member  of  the  Walnut  United
13    Methodist  Church, the Walnut Masonic Lodge #722 AF&AM for 50
14    years, and the Walnut American Legion Post #179; and

15        WHEREAS, Mr. Gerald Wilt's passing will be deeply felt by
16    his wife, Dolores Wilt; his daughter,  Nadine  (Mike)  Prall;
17    his  sons, Ron (Jeanne) Wilt and Marc (Deanna) Wilt; his nine
18    grandchildren; his  two  great-granddaughters;  his  brother,
19    Lester (Cecelia) Wilt; his sisters, Elsie Whitlock and Elaine
20    (LaVern) Bolbock; and his several nieces and nephews; and

21        WHEREAS,  He was preceded in death by his parents and one
22    granddaughter; therefore, be it

23        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
24    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
25    Gerald  Wilt along with all who knew and loved him and extend
26    our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be  it
27    further

28        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
29    presented to the family of Gerald Wilt as  an  expression  of
30    our deepest sympathy.
