 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to  learn of the death of Robert C.
 4    Schmitt of Kickapoo on June 11, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitt was born on  January  14,  1941,  in
 6    Peoria  to Carl R. and Reaka Peters Schmitt; he married Carol
 7    A. Stenger on April 28, 1962 in Kickapoo; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitt was a member of Laborers  Local  165
 9    for  45  years, working for Ray Hoffman, V. Jobst & Sons, and
10    River City Construction for the last 18 years; and

11        WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitt was a member of St. Mary's  Catholic
12    Church  in  Kickapoo,  where  he  was  head  of buildings and
13    grounds, and served on  the  finance  committee;  he  was  an
14    ardent  Academy/Spalding  Booster  for more than 13 years and
15    served as its president; he was a past grand  knight  of  the
16    Bishop Rosati Council of the Knights of Columbus; and

17        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Schmitt's  passing  will be deeply felt by
18    many, especially his  wife,  Carol;  his  two  sons,  Jeffrey
19    (Jenny)  and  Robert  II  (Linda);  his three daughters, Jane
20    (Sean) Bunbury, Rebecca  (John)  Roling,  and  Lucinda  (Tom)
21    Loos;  his  16  grandchildren; his brother, Larry (Jane); and
22    his sister, Doris (John) Murphy; therefore, be it

23        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
24    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
25    Robert  C.  Schmitt along with all who knew and loved him and
26    extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
27    be it further

28        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
29    presented to the family of Robert C. Schmitt as an expression
30    of our deepest sympathy.
