 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, the price of gasoline  has  reached  an  average
 3    $1.70 per gallon nationwide; and

 4        WHEREAS, the price of gasoline continues to climb, to the
 5    extent  that  some experts have predicted prices of $2.50 per
 6    gallon in the near future; therefore be it

 7        RESOLVED  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
 8    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that  we  call  upon  the
 9    United  States  Congress to investigate and determine why the
10    cost of motor fuel is so high and climbing; and be it further

11        RESOLVED, That suitable  copies  of  this  resolution  be
12    delivered  to  the  President pro tempore of the U.S. Senate,
13    the Speaker of the U.S. House of  Representatives,  and  each
14    member of the Illinois congressional delegation.
