 1        AN ACT in relation to elections.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Election  Code  is  amended  by  changing
 5    Section 1A-1 as follows:

 6        (10 ILCS 5/1A-1) (from Ch. 46, par. 1A-1)
 7        Sec. 1A-1.  State Board of Elections established. A State
 8    Board  of  Elections  is  hereby established which shall have
 9    general  supervision   over   the   administration   of   the
10    registration  and  election  laws  throughout  the State, and
11    shall perform only such duties as are  or  may  hereafter  be
12    prescribed by law.
