 1        AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Child Care Act  of  1969  is  amended  by
 5    changing Section 4.4 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 10/4.4) (from Ch. 23, par. 2214.4)
 7        Sec.  4.4. Background investigations. For the purposes of
 8    background investigations authorized in  this  Act,  "license
 9    applicant"   means   the   operator  or  person  with  direct
10    responsibility for daily operation  of  the  facility  to  be
11    licensed.  In  the  case  of  facilities  to be operated in a
12    family home, the Department may, by rule, require that  other
13    adult   residents   of   that   home   also   authorize  such
14    investigations.
