 1        AN ACT concerning dentistry.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The Illinois Dental Practice Act is amended by
 5    adding Section 8.2 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 25/8.2 new)
 7        Sec. 8.2.  Prohibition on the use of mercury. A  dentist,
 8    in  normal  circumstances,  may  not use mercury or a mercury
 9    amalgam in a dental procedure involving a person 8  years  of
10    age or younger or a woman who is pregnant.

11        Section  99.  Effective  date. This Act takes effect upon
12    becoming law.
