SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 801/15-5

Amends the Department of Natural Resources Act. Provides that the Department's Office of Scientific Research and Analysis shall contain within it an Illinois Center for Sustainability and Research division, rather than a Waste Management and Research Center division. Effective July 1, 2004.

AN ACT concerning natural resources.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Natural Resources Act is amended by changing Section 15-5 as follows:

(20 ILCS 801/15-5)

Sec. 15-5. Office of Scientific Research and Analysis. The Department of Natural Resources shall have within it an Office of Scientific Research and Analysis. The Office shall contain within it a Natural History Survey division, a State Water Survey division, a State Geological Survey division, an Illinois Center for Sustainability and Research a Waste Management and Research Center division, and such other related research functions and responsibilities as may be appropriate. The Board of Natural Resources and Conservation is retained as the governing board for the Scientific Surveys and Waste Management and Research Center.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2004.
