SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/2-103.5 new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Abolishes the Illinois Commerce Commission Police Force and transfers its officers and records to the Department of State Police. Effective immediately.

AN ACT in relation to public utilities.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding Section 2-103.5 as follows:

(220 ILCS 5/2-103.5 new)

Sec. 2-103.5. Illinois Commerce Commission Police Force eliminated. On the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General Assembly, the Illinois Commerce Commission Police Force is abolished. On the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General Assembly, all Illinois Commerce Commission Police Officers are transferred to the jurisdiction of the Department of State Police and all books, records, and accounts relating to the Illinois Commerce Commission Police Force are transferred to the Department of State Police.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
