SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

70 ILCS 920/5.4 new

Amends the Tuberculosis Sanitarium District Act. Dissolves the Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District upon the effective date of the amendatory Act. Requires all real property of the dissolved district to be transferred to the Cook County Forest Preserve District. Requires all other assets and liabilities of the dissolved district to be transferred to the Cook County Board. Requires the Board to deposit those assets into the County Working Cash Fund. Requires all responsibility for tuberculosis treatment and care of the dissolved district to be transferred to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

AN ACT concerning tuberculosis sanitariums.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Tuberculosis Sanitarium District Act is amended by adding Section 5.4 as follows:

(70 ILCS 920/5.4 new)

Sec. 5.4. Dissolution; Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District is dissolved by operation of law upon the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General Assembly. All real property of the dissolved Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District is transferred to the Cook County Forest Preserve District. All other assets and liabilities of the dissolved Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District are transferred to the Cook County Board and all assets shall be deposited into the County Working Cash Fund. All responsibility for tuberculosis care and treatment of the dissolved Suburban Cook County Tuberculosis Sanitarium District is transferred to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
