Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Creates an absolute privilege for reporters by removing the exceptions to the privilege.

AN ACT concerning reporters.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by changing Section 8-901 as follows:

Sec. 8-901. Source of information. No court may compel any person to disclose the source of any information obtained by a reporter except as provided in Part 9 of Article VIII of this Act.

Section 10. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by repealing Sections 8-903, 8-904, 8-905, 8-906, 8-907, 8-908, and 8-909.
