| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize milestone events in |
| 4 |
| the lives of citizens of the State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, On June 8, 2004, Dorothy Cavender of Manteno will |
| 6 |
| celebrate the 40th anniversary of her service at HomeStar Bank; |
| 7 |
| and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Cavender was born on May 4, 1919, in Momence; |
| 9 |
| she has been a lifelong resident of Kankakee County and has |
| 10 |
| been a resident of Manteno since 1970, with her husband |
| 11 |
| Lawrence; they are the parents of three children, Judy, Tom, |
| 12 |
| and Don; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Cavender was previously employed at Our Lady |
| 14 |
| of Academy in the laundry room and at Simeur's Grocery Store; |
| 15 |
| she started work at Manteno State Bank on June 8, 1964; she |
| 16 |
| came home after the first day on the job and told her husband |
| 17 |
| that she thought she would have to return to the grocery store |
| 18 |
| because she couldn't handle all of the money; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Every performance review of Mrs. Cavender |
| 20 |
| describes her loyalty and dependability; she served best in the |
| 21 |
| position of teller, where she knew and still knows each |
| 22 |
| customer by name; she played an intricate role on the bank's |
| 23 |
| Y2K committee, where her banking history and knowledge of the |
| 24 |
| manual systems assisted in planning back-up procedures; |
| 25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 28 |
| congratulate Dorothy Cavender on the occasion of her 40th |
| 29 |
| anniversary of service with HomeStar Bank; and be it further
