1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois are pleased to thank the SIU School of Dental
4 Medicine in Alton for its participation in "Give Kids A Smile
5 Day"; and

6     WHEREAS, "Give Kids A Smile Day" is a nationwide event
7 sponsored by the American Dental Association; free dental
8 treatment, including examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride
9 treatments, fillings, and extractions, was provided; and

10     WHEREAS, Participants in the day included 10 faculty
11 members, 54 dental students, and 19 staff members; in addition,
12 40 local dentists volunteered along with 34 members of their
13 respective staffs, all serving 175 area children from 51
14 schools; therefore, be it

15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 thank the SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton for its
18 participation in "Give Kids A Smile Day"; and be it further

19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton as an
21 expression of our respect and gratitude for the generosity of
22 the many volunteers who participated in the event.
