HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with regret of the death in Iraq of
4 U.S. Army Reserves Sergeant Elmer C. Krause of Greensboro,
5 North Carolina, on Friday, April 9, 2004; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Elmer C. Krause was born on April 26, 1963, and he
7 grew up in Vallejo, California; he first entered the military
8 when he was 21, serving in the U.S. Navy, then enlisting in the
9 U.S. Army Reserves in February of 1987; he was promoted to
10 sergeant in July of 1995; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Sergeant Krause served first with the 424th
12 Transportation Company, based in Galax, Virginia, and
13 transferred to the 724th Transportation Company, based out of
14 Bartonville, last November; he had hoped to provide leadership
15 to younger soldiers; and
 
16     WHEREAS, At his home in Greensboro, Sergeant Krause worked
17 as a painter; he was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and Jeff
18 Gordon; his son was especially important to him; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Sergeant Elmer C. Krause has been
20 deeply felt by many, especially his son, Jonathan, his brothers
21 and sisters, and his many other family members and friends;
22 therefore, be it
 
23     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 mourn the passing of Sergeant Elmer C. Krause, and we extend
26 our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all who
27 knew and loved him; and be it further
 
28     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Krause and
29 his willingness to serve our country, which led to him making

1 the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Sergeant Elmer C. Krause as an
4 expression of our deepest sympathy.
