| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize milestone events for |
| 4 |
| businesses of the State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Earl Gaudio and |
| 6 |
| Son, Inc. of Vermilion County is celebrating the 100th |
| 7 |
| anniversary of its inception; the company has the distinction |
| 8 |
| of being the only wholesale beer distributor to have 100 years |
| 9 |
| of exclusive relationship with Anheuser-Busch; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The family business was started in 1904 in Benld |
| 11 |
| by the Gaudio family; during Prohibition, Anheuser-Busch |
| 12 |
| bottled soft drinks and built carriages and freezers, and the |
| 13 |
| Gaudio family distributed the legal beverages; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Gaudio, the second generation in the family |
| 15 |
| to run the business, joined his father in the family business |
| 16 |
| in the late 1940s; in 1956, the family became aware of a beer |
| 17 |
| distributorship available for sale in Danville, and the family |
| 18 |
| moved its business to Vermilion County; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dennis Gaudio became the third generation to serve |
| 20 |
| in the family business in 1972; his son, Eric, came on board in |
| 21 |
| 2001, making him the fourth generation to run the family |
| 22 |
| business; therefore, be it
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 25 |
| congratulate Earl Gaudio and Son, Inc. on the occasion of its |
| 26 |
| 100th anniversary; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to the Gaudio family as an expression of our respect |
| 29 |
| and esteem.
