HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to honor citizens of the State who have made significant contributions to local government in Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Bernard "Olie" Alblinger of Ivesdale was born on April 9, 1923 to Gus and Josephine Alblinger; he valiantly served his country during World War II; he married Lois Auth; he is the father of 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alblinger has served as mayor of Ivesdale since 1963; during his tenure as mayor the "Street Scape" project was completed in 2001; prior to becoming mayor, he was the first fire chief of the village fire department; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Alblinger is a partner in Alblinger Bros. Hardware and is still active in the store today; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Mayor Bernard "Olie" Alblinger for his many years of service to the Village of Ivesdale; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Bernard "Olie" Alblinger as an expression of our respect and esteem.
