HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize
3 significant milestones in the lives of the people of this
4 State; and
 
5     WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Iole Maria Pucci
6 of Norridge is celebrating the 100th anniversary of her birth;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, Iole Maria Pagnucci was born September 25, 1903,
9 in Ruota, Italy, the oldest of 8 children; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Iole Pagnucci married Adolph Pucci in April of
11 1928; she remained in Italy for one year while Mr. Pucci worked
12 in the copper mines of Michigan's Upper Peninsula; she arrived
13 in America on July 4, 1929; they settled in Chicago to raise
14 their family; Mr. Pucci worked for a brickmaker and later for
15 the Chicago Park District; Mrs. Pucci worked at a restaurant
16 and a plastics company; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The Puccis purchased an apartment building in the
18 Lakeview area of Chicago, where they also had part interest in
19 the Triangle Tavern, a local pub; they later bought a new ranch
20 home on the city's northwest side; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Mrs. Pucci is the proud mother of 2 children,
22 Laura and Adolph, Jr.; she is the grandmother of 4
23 grandchildren and the great-grandmother to 4; she has always
24 been an incredible cook and was well known for her beautiful
25 garden; she currently leads an active social life, attending
26 mass, doing crafts, and playing bingo; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
29 congratulate Iole Maria Pucci on the occasion of her 100th

1 birthday and extend to her our sincere best wishes for the
2 future; and be it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Mrs. Pucci as an expression of our respect and
5 esteem.
