 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The Illinois School Psychologists Association is
 3    celebrating its 25 years of effectively serving the  children
 4    and the school districts of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  The  Illinois  School Psychologists Association
 6    has,  since  its  inception  in  1978,   provided   extensive
 7    in-service  training  and  mentoring  to school psychologists
 8    throughout Illinois; and

 9        WHEREAS, The Illinois  School  Psychologists  Association
10    has  devoted  considerable  efforts  and resources to provide
11    scholarships and to recruit students to enter  the  field  to
12    become certified school psychologists; and

13        WHEREAS,  In  1993,  the  Illinois  School  Psychologists
14    Association  led  the  successful  legislative  effort to ban
15    corporal punishment in the public schools of Illinois; and

16        WHEREAS, The Illinois  School  Psychologists  Association
17    has  made  a  commitment  to provide help to students who may
18    otherwise  become  subject  to  depression  or   to   suicide
19    attempts; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
21    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
22    we congratulate the Illinois School Psychologists Association
23    on its 25th anniversary of service to students throughout the
24    State of Illinois, their families, and to its members; and be
25    it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to the Illinois School Psychologists Association.
