 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives recognizes
 3    the Morgan County Sheriff's Office which on December 11, 2003
 4    will have the honor of graduating the 5000th D.A.R.E  student
 5    from the Morgan County D.A.R.E. Program; and

 6        WHEREAS, The D.A.R.E. Program in Morgan County started in
 7    December  1986  as  an  Illinois  Pilot  Program,  one  of 30
 8    throughout the  State,  and  has  continued  with  remarkable
 9    success  for the last 17 years under the direction of Lt. Tab
10    Turke who is the D.A.R.E. Instructor; and

11        WHEREAS,  The  schools  covered  by  the  Morgan   County
12    D.A.R.E.  Program  include  the Illinois School for the Deaf,
13    North Jacksonville, South Jacksonville,  Murrayville-Woodson,
14    Waverly,   Meredosia-Chambersburg,  Alexander,  Triopia,  and
15    Trinity Lutheran; and

16        WHEREAS, The event will take place  with  the  5th  grade
17    classes  from  Alexander  Grade  School and be conducted with
18    D.A.R.E.  graduation  ceremonies  at  Franklin  High  School;
19    therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we recognize the  Morgan  County  Sheriff's  Office  and  its
23    dedication to helping better the community by introducing the
24    D.A.R.E. Program; and be it further

25        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
26    presented to Lt. Tab Turke as an expression  of  our  respect
27    and esteem.
