 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish to congratulate Dr. Craig S. Washington
 4    who recently joined the City Colleges of Chicago as the sixth
 5    President of Olive-Harvey College in August of 2003; and

 6        WHEREAS, Dr. Washington received his Ed.D. in  Counseling
 7    Psychology and Organizational Development from the University
 8    of  Massachusetts; he is a graduate of the Fellows Program in
 9    Organizational and Community Systems from  the  John  Hopkins
10    University   and  he  also  received  a  Certificate  in  the
11    Management Development Program at Harvard University; and

12        WHEREAS, Dr. Washington is a capable  administrator  with
13    more than twenty-seven years of experience in former roles of
14    Executive  for  the  National  Wellness  Institute,  Inc., in
15    Stevens Point, Wisconsin; as Executive Administrator  to  the
16    Chancellor  of  the  Pinta County Community College District,
17    both in Tucson, Arizona; and

18        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Washington's  accomplishments  in   higher
19    education  include  serving as: Vice President of Instruction
20    at Eastfield College in the Dallas County  Community  College
21    District,  in Dallas, Texas, and as Division Chair of several
22    academic  and  technical  divisions  at   Northern   Virginia
23    Community  College,  the  Johns  Hopkins  University,  Howard
24    University, George Mason University, and American University;
25    therefore, be it

26        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
27    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
28    we  congratulate  Dr.  Craig  S.  Washington  on  his  recent
29    appointment  as  the  sixth President of Olive-Harvey College
30    and wish him good health and happiness in all of  his  future
31    endeavors; and be it further
