 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, John Richard Foran will be honored  on  June  9,
 3    2003,  at  the  Rosewood  West  by  the Mount Greenwood Civic
 4    Association as the 2003 "Man of the Year"; and

 5        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 6    Representatives  have been informed of this accomplishment by
 7    State Representative Kevin Joyce; and

 8        WHEREAS, John was born on July 4, 1960, the  devoted  son
 9    of  Jack  and  Evelyn  Foran; he graduated from Saint Cajetan
10    Grammar School in 1974, Saint Rita High School in  1978,  and
11    Chicago State University in 1983; and

12        WHEREAS,  John married Denise Link on August 29, 1986, at
13    Saint Cajetan Catholic Church; the union  of  their  marriage
14    has brought them two wonderful children, Brian and Mary Kate;
15    John  and  his  family  are  proud members of Saint Christina
16    Catholic Parish; and

17        WHEREAS, John began his  career  with  the  Chicago  Park
18    District  in  1984 as a Recreation Leader at Kennedy Park; he
19    was promoted to Physical Instructor of Rainey Park  in  1985,
20    before  moving  to  Mount  Greenwood  Park  in  1987;  he was
21    promoted to Supervisor  of  Mount  Greenwood  Park  in  1996,
22    succeeding the legendary Gerry Tourville; and

23        WHEREAS,   John   Foran's   character,   dedication,  and
24    commitment have earned him the respect and admiration of  the
25    entire  community  for  all  that he does for the programs at
26    Mount Greenwood Park; therefore, be it

27        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
28    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29    we congratulate John Foran for being honored as the 2003  Man
30    of  the  Year  and  for his commitment to the families of the
31    Mount Greenwood community; and be it further
