 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is  facing  a  $5  billion
 3    budget crisis; and

 4        WHEREAS,  New ways to reduce expenses to the State should
 5    be explored as a means to deal with this crisis; and

 6        WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has a number of  executive
 7    aircraft,  including  four $5 million King Air Turboprops and
 8    two $4 million executive helicopters; and

 9        WHEREAS, It costs  the  State  of  Illinois  millions  of
10    dollars  to  own,  maintain, and staff the fleet of executive
11    aircraft; therefore, be it

12        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
13    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14    we encourage the Governor and the Office  of  Management  and
15    Budget  to  conduct  an  audit  of  all  State-ownedexecutive
16    aircraft  and  examine  the possibility of selling or leasing
17    the executive air fleet as a means  to  save  money  for  the
18    State of Illinois; and be it further

19        RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be sent
20    to  the  Governor  and  to  the  Director  of  the  Office of
21    Management and Budget.
