 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives are honored to recognize notable achievements
 4    in the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  The Illinois Department of Aging announced that
 6    Jo Ann Kleffer of Wabash County is one of the  recipients  of
 7    the Governor's Awards for Unique Achievement; and

 8        WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kleffer was nominated by the Southeastern
 9    Illinois Area Agency on Aging; and

10        WHEREAS,  Jo Ann Kleffer began her service as Director of
11    the Wabash County Senior Center 27 years ago,  after  serving
12    as  Activity  Director  for  several  years;  she is also the
13    Supervisor for Wabash County Nutrition Services at the center
14    and works to serve an average of 3,500 meals a month; and

15        WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kleffer is the  "answer  woman"  for  any
16    questions coming into the center, and a visitor to the center
17    may find Ms. Kleffer scrubbing floors, washing walls, serving
18    meals, leaving to deliver meals, completing Circuit Breakers,
19    leaving  to take someone to the doctor's office, or listening
20    to someone's problem; and

21        WHEREAS, In celebration of Older Americans Month, Jo  Ann
22    Kleffer  was  honored  along  with  the other recipients at a
23    ceremony on  May  14,  2003,  at  the  Executive  Mansion  in
24    Springfield; therefore, be it

25        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
26    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
27    we  congratulate  Jo  Ann Kleffer of Wabash County on being a
28    recipient of the Governor's Awards for Unique Achievement for
29    her dedication and committed service for the past 27 years as
30    the Director of the Wabash County Senior Center and  also  as
31    the  Supervisor  for  Wabash County Nutrition Services at the

 1    center; and be it further

 2        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 3    presented to Jo-Ann Kleffer as an expression of our esteem.
