 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of
 4    Autherine "Dorothy" Duckett on Tuesday, March 18, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Duckett was born on November  21,  1942  in
 6    Toone,  Tennessee  to  Marshall  and  Katherine Wilbourn; her
 7    mother preceded her in death when Mrs. Duckett was six months
 8    old; she was raised by her  maternal  grandparents,  Mitchell
 9    and Ruby Dean; and

10        WHEREAS,  In  1956,  Mrs.  Duckett  moved to Chicago; she
11    attended DuSable  High  School;  on  January  16,  1962,  she
12    married  Henry  Lee  Duckett;  she worked at Kimberly Quality
13    Care as a home care assistant; and

14        WHEREAS, The passing of Mrs. Duckett has been deeply felt
15    by all who knew  her,  especially  her  husband,  Henry;  her
16    children,  Michael,  Erik  (Anita),  Elissa,  and Jamese; her
17    brothers, R.L. Dean and Alvester (Betty); her granddaughters,
18    Janice and Erika; her aunts, Annie Lee Chatman and Bertha Lee
19    Chatman; and a host of relatives and friends;  therefore,  be
20    it

21        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
22    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
23    we  mourn  the  passing  of  Autherine  "Dorothy" Duckett and
24    express our sincere and deepest sympathy to  her  family  and
25    friends; and be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to the family of Autherine "Dorothy" Duckett as  an
28    expression   of   our   condolences   during  their  time  of
29    bereavement.
