 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State of Illinois wish to congratulate the University of
 4    Illinois Fighting Illini basketball team on winning  the  Big
 5    10 Conference Tournament Championship; and

 6        WHEREAS,  The  Fighting Illini won the Big Ten Tournament
 7    Championship in a victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes with a
 8    score of 72 to 59; the Illini finished the tournament with  a
 9    record of 24 wins and 6 losses; and

10        WHEREAS,  During  the game, Roger Powell scored 16 points
11    and Sean  Harrington  recorded  12  points;  James  Augustine
12    tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds; and

13        WHEREAS,  The  head  coach of the Fighting Illini is Bill
14    Self;  Norman  Roberts  is  the  associate  head  coach;  Tim
15    Jankovich and Wayne McClain are assistant coaches; Jeff  Guin
16    is the administrative assistant; and

17        WHEREAS,  The  team  members  of  the Fighting Illini are
18    Aaron Spears, Luther Head, Deron Williams, Dee Brown, Blandon
19    Ferguson, Sean Harrington, Jerrance Howard, Nick  Huge,  Kyle
20    Wilson,  Brian  Cook,  James Augustine, Clayton Thomas, Roger
21    Powell, Nick Smith, and Jack Ingram; therefore, be it

22        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
23    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24    we congratulate the team members and coaches of the  Fighting
25    Illini  basketball  team  on  winning  the Big Ten Conference
26    Tournament Championship; and be it further

27        RESOLVED, That suitable  copies  of  this  resolution  be
28    presented  to each of the coaches and members of the Fighting
29    Illini as a token of our respect and esteem and with our best
30    wishes for future success.
