 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  Mr.  David  Perkins  has   served   the   North
 3    Pekin-Marquette  Heights  School District 102 for the past 39
 4    years; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Perkins has been involved in  the  Mentoring
 6    through  Teacher Leadership Academy, the Encouraging Quote of
 7    the Day for Staff  program,  and  training  numerous  student
 8    teachers; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Perkins  has sponsored and participated in
10    Curriculum Based Field Trips, such as the  study  of  history
11    through  Veterans  Cemeteries, Native American Art and Stamps
12    projects, and painting a  permanent  drawing  of  the  Wright
13    Brothers'  plane  on the Rogers Elementary School playground;
14    and

15        WHEREAS, Mr. Perkins has been involved in  the  Hands  On
16    Study  of  Science through a field trip to a local site where
17    samples of pond life and  plant  life  are  experienced,  the
18    paper airplane throw, and the egg drop; and

19        WHEREAS,  During  his  tenure  at  North  Pekin-Marquette
20    Heights  School  District  102,  Mr.  Perkins  has provided a
21    powerful motto for himself, staff,  students,  and  community
22    that "Knowledge is Power"; and

23        WHEREAS,  Having  devoted  39 years to this motto and the
24    teaching profession, he has instilled  knowledge  to  all  so
25    that  they  would  be assured a good education resulting in a
26    better way of life; and

27        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Perkins  taught  in  a  manner  that  made
28    everyone desire to learn more; those who were taught  by  him
29    proudly wear the label of Perkin's Perfect Pupils and forever
30    work to live up to it; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 2    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 3    we  congratulate and thank Mr. David Perkins for his 39 years
 4    of exemplary service to  the  North  Pekin-Marquette  Heights
 5    School  District 102 and wish him well in his retirement; and
 6    be it further

 7        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 8    presented  to  David  Perkins as an expression of our respect
 9    and esteem.
