 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  congratulate  Brother  Louis  Piskur  on his
 4    retirement  after  47  dedicated  years  of  service  to  the
 5    International Brotherhood of Electrical  Workers  (IBEW)  and
 6    Local 176 on February 28, 2003; and

 7        WHEREAS,  Brother  Piskur was initiated into the Local on
 8    May  14,  1959;  along  with  working  in  the  field  as  an
 9    apprentice, journeyman, foreman and superintendent,  he  also
10    taught  at  the  Local apprenticeship for more than 30 years;
11    and

12        WHEREAS, In 1990, Mr. Piskur became the  first  full-time
13    training director of the Local and his tenure as director led
14    to many great changes; and

15        WHEREAS,  The apprenticeship has grown from just over 100
16    students to  over  400  currently;  and  the  day  school  he
17    implemented is proving to be a great success; and

18        WHEREAS,   His   greatest   achievement   has   been  the
19    Associate's Degree in Electrical Construction  Technology  at
20    Illinois  Valley  Community  College,  upon completion of the
21    five-year apprenticeship; and

22        WHEREAS, Brother Piskur has donated  countless  hours  of
23    hard  work  and  dedication  to many organizations within the
24    Local and surrounding areas; therefore, be it

25        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
26    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27    we congratulate Brother Louis Piskur as he retires after many
28    years of hard work for the IBEW and Local 176,  and  we  wish
29    him good health and happiness in all of his future endeavors;
30    and be it further
