 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  congratulate Mike Beard on his retirement as
 4    President of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Beard has been a  member  of  the  Jefferson
 6    County Chamber of Commerce board since 1997 and has served as
 7    President since 2002; previously, he served as Vice President
 8    of the Educational Clearing House and Membership development;
 9    and

10        WHEREAS,  Mr. Beard served as Assistant District Governor
11    of Rotary International District 6510 from 2001 to  2003  and
12    served  as  President  from  1999-2000;  in  addition, he has
13    served as Administrative Board President of United  Methodist
14    Church  and  President and Board Member of the Human Services
15    Networking Council; and

16        WHEREAS, In 2000, Mr. Beard was  named  "Citizen  of  the
17    Year"  by the Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge #819; he is also a member
18    of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois;
19    therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we  congratulate  Mike  Beard  on  his  retirement  from  the
23    Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and wish him good health
24    and happiness in all of  his  future  endeavors;  and  be  it
25    further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to Mike Beard with our respect and esteem.
