 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the State of Illinois wish to congratulate Bonnie M. Hollaway
 4    as  she  retires  from  her  position  as President of Orland
 5    School District 135 Board of Education after eight  years  of
 6    service; and

 7        WHEREAS,  Bonnie  Hollaway  was  elected  to the board on
 8    November 7, 1995; she served as Vice President for  one  year
 9    and as President since November of 2000; during her tenure on
10    the  board,  she chaired the Education, Policy, Negotiations,
11    and Ethics committees, served on the Finance,  Building,  and
12    Planning  committees,  and  was District 135's liaison to the
13    village board; and

14        WHEREAS,  Through  the  leadership  of  Bonnie  Hollaway,
15    District 135 has seen many notable  goals  attained  such  as
16    planning  and constructing two new schools and remodeling all
17    of the district facilities; she has been instrumental in  the
18    development  of a long-range plan for student achievement, as
19    well as in the evaluation and restructuring of  all  district
20    curriculums  to  align  them  with  State standards and bring
21    consistency of  instruction  to  all  of  the  district's  10
22    schools; and

23        WHEREAS,  The  Board of Education, administrators, staff,
24    and parents of District 135  will honor Mrs. Bonnie  Hollaway
25    at a meeting to be held on April 7, 2003; and

26        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
27    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
28    we  congratulate  Bonnie  Hollaway on her retirement from the
29    Orland School District 135 Board of Education  and  wish  her
30    good health and happiness in all of her future endeavors; and
31    be it further

 1        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 2    presented to Bonnie M.  Hollaway  as  an  expression  of  our
 3    respect and esteem.
