 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the State of Illinois wish to congratulate Bonnie M. Hollaway
 4    and  Paul  Jacobowski  as they retire from their positions on
 5    the Orland School District 135 Board of Education after eight
 6    years of service; and

 7        WHEREAS, Bonnie Hollaway served as Vice President for one
 8    year and as President since  November  of  2000;  during  her
 9    tenure  on  the  board,  she  chaired  the Education, Policy,
10    Negotiations, and Ethics committees, served on  the  Finance,
11    Building,  and  Planning  committees,  and was District 135's
12    liaison to the village board; and

13        WHEREAS, Paul Jacobowski served  as  Board  President  in
14    1999-00; during his eight years on the board Paul has chaired
15    the  Finance,  Policy,  and  Ethics committees, served on the
16    Building and Education committees,  and  was  District  135's
17    representative   to  the  State  and  national  school  board
18    associations; and

19        WHEREAS, Through the leadership of  Bonnie  Hollaway  and
20    Paul  Jacobowski,  District  135  has seen many notable goals
21    attained such as planning and constructing  two  new  schools
22    and remodeling all of the district facilities; they have been
23    instrumental  in  the  development  of  a long-range plan for
24    student  achievement,  as  well  as  in  the  evaluation  and
25    restructuring of all district curriculums to align them  with
26    State  standards  and bring consistency of instruction to all
27    of the district's 10 schools; they exemplify the teamwork  of
28    the  Board  of Education and the administration in allocating
29    the district's resources to reduce a budget deficit over  the
30    years while enhancing academic programs at the same time; and

31        WHEREAS,  The  Board of Education, administrators, staff,
32    and parents of District 135  will honor Mrs. Bonnie  Hollaway

 1    and  Mr.  Paul Jacobowski at a meeting to be held on April 7,
 2    2003; and

 3        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 4    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 5    we congratulate Bonnie Hollaway and Paul Jacobowski on  their
 6    retirement  from  the  Orland  School  District  135 Board of
 7    Education and wish them good health and happiness in  all  of
 8    their future endeavors; and be it further

 9        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
10    presented to Bonnie M. Hollaway and  Paul  Jacobowski  as  an
11    expression of our respect and esteem.
