HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Representative Rosemary Kurtz of Crystal Lake on her service to the people of the 64th District; and

WHEREAS, Representative Kurtz has been a member of the Illinois House since 2001, and has served this body with distinction; and

WHEREAS, Representative Kurtz's legislative accomplishments include the establishment of an 800 hotline number that allows victims of violent crimes to provide information to the Prison Review Board, the allocation of additional funds to high growth school districts, and penalties for dog owners if the safety of the public is ignored; she has also received numerous honors and awards in recognition of her support for the environment, public education, health, and farming; and

WHEREAS, She has been a member of the Committees on Health Care Availability Access, Appropriations-Elementary & Secondary Education, Developmental Disabilities & Mental Illness, Health Care Availability & Access, Human Services, Local Government, Committee of the Whole, and Healthy Illinois Plan; and

WHEREAS, She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, a master's degree from the University of Kansas, and course work towards a Ph.D. at the University of Iowa; prior to serving in the House, she was a high school and college teacher, the Treasurer for the City of Crystal Lake, a member of Crystal Lake's Zoning Board of Appeals, and a board member of the McHenry County Family Services and Mental Health Clinic; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Representative Rosemary Kurtz on a job well done and we wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Rosemary Kurtz as an expression of our esteem and respect for our colleague and friend.
