 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  pleased to recognize Jed Zaymer of Carl
 4    Sandburg High School  who  has  been  selected  as  the  2002
 5    Gatorade Illinois High School Male Soccer Player of the Year;
 6    and

 7        WHEREAS,  The  honor,  which  also  factors  in  academic
 8    achievements  and  overall character, has been awarded for 18
 9    years to athletes  in  10  different  sports  including  Kobe
10    Bryant,  Marion  Jones, Alex Rodriguez, and Peyton Manning as
11    previous winners; and

12        WHEREAS, As a defender, Jed scored five  goals  and  five
13    assists  this  season;  he  has  led  a  defense that won two
14    consecutive State championship games; and

15        WHEREAS, Jed Zaymer's amazing work ethic  in  soccer  has
16    lifted the work ethic of his teammates by his example; and

17        WHEREAS, Jed maintains a 3.2 grade point average and is a
18    member  of  the  varsity club and the Fellowship of Christian
19    Athletes (FCA); therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we congratulate Jed Zaymer on  being  selected  as  the  2002
23    Gatorade  Illinois High School Male Soccer Player of the Year
24    and wish him good health and happiness in all of  his  future
25    endeavors; and be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution is
27    presented to Jed Zaymer as an expression of our respect.
