| WHEREAS, Pastor Steven D. Lewis has been Pastor of the True |
| 3 |
| Vine M.B. Church in Chicago for 25 years; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis is a graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower |
| 5 |
| High School in Blue Island, and attended Moraine Valley |
| 6 |
| Community College in Palos Hills; he began his structured |
| 7 |
| biblical studies at Chicago Baptist Institute, later |
| 8 |
| graduating from International Bible Seminary in Orlando, |
| 9 |
| Florida, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology; Pastor |
| 10 |
| Lewis was called to pastor the True Vine M.B. Church in 1979; |
| 11 |
| and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis is a renowned preacher; his powerful |
| 13 |
| teaching and dynamic preaching have touched hundreds of |
| 14 |
| thousands of lives, and have afforded him the privilege of |
| 15 |
| ministering to families all across Chicago and numerous cities |
| 16 |
| and states; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He is also very musically inclined, possessing |
| 18 |
| both the gift of singing and playing the organ; his ministry is |
| 19 |
| meaningful and mighty; although he is lofty in stature, his |
| 20 |
| humble demeanor speaks a greater volume; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, He has been married to his soul mate, Helen |
| 22 |
| Patrice Lewis, for 23 years; they have been blessed with four |
| 23 |
| children, Hope Lynette, Steven D. Jr., Christopher James, and |
| 24 |
| Cameron William; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 27 |
| congratulate Pastor Steven D. Lewis on the occasion of his |
| 28 |
| twenty-fifth anniversary as Pastor of the True Vine M.B. Church |
| 29 |
| in Chicago and we thank him for his many contributions to the |
| 30 |
