| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate and thank Teri E. Becker |
| 4 |
| of the Illinois National Guard on obtaining the rank of command |
| 5 |
| sergeant major; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Teri E. Becker was born in Danville and is |
| 7 |
| currently a resident of Champaign; she is married to John |
| 8 |
| Becker; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Becker joined the National Guard in 1987 and |
| 10 |
| served in the 47th Adjutant General Company, 623rd Personnel |
| 11 |
| Services Detachment, until her recent promotion to command |
| 12 |
| sergeant major for the 634th Personnel Services Battalion; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Command sergeant major is the second highest |
| 14 |
| enlisted rank in the Illinois National Guard; Teri E. Becker is |
| 15 |
| the first woman in the Illinois National Guard to achieve the |
| 16 |
| rank of command sergeant major; in her new position, she is |
| 17 |
| responsible for 550 Illinois National Guard soldiers; she has |
| 18 |
| served her country in the Illinois National Guard for half of |
| 19 |
| her life, and by doing so, she has shown her courage, |
| 20 |
| dedication, and selflessness; therefore, be it
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 23 |
| congratulate Teri E. Becker on her recent promotion to command |
| 24 |
| sergeant major and encourage the other young, motivated |
| 25 |
| citizens of Illinois to follow the example set by her; and be |
| 26 |
| it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Teri E. Becker as a token of our deepest and most |
| 29 |
| sincere thanks to a woman who has selflessly served her country |
| 30 |
| and community.
