HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Chelsea Fahey on being
4 crowned Miss Teen America in July 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, The Miss Teen America contest was her biggest and
6 most prestigious pageant win since she started on the circuit
7 at age six; and
 
8     WHEREAS, The career of the beaming, blond senior at the
9 all-girls Mother McAuley High School on Chicago's Southwest
10 Side has been a remarkably successful one; since her first win
11 a decade ago in Peoria, Chelsea Fahey has collected dozens of
12 sashes and trophies for her victories; and
 
13     WHEREAS, In addition to entering pageants, Chelsea Fahey
14 volunteers her time and is active in her high school's a
15 cappella choir and drama club; she hopes to study for a career
16 in television journalism or public relations at DePaul
17 University; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Chelsea Fahey still dreams of being Miss America
19 and plans to try out for the prestigious pageant's regional
20 competition next year; therefore, be it
 
21     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
23 congratulate Chelsea Fahey on being crowned Miss Teen America
24 2004 and wish her well in her future competitions and stage
25 opportunities; and be it further
 
26     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Chelsea Fahey as an expression of our admiration
28 and acknowledgement of her academic achievements and talents.
