HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The illegal production and distribution of
3 methamphetamine is a threat to the public safety of this State;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, Current laws have not decreased this illegal
6 activity; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 there is created the Methamphetamine Task Force hereinafter
10 referred to as the Task Force consisting of 11 members
11 appointed as follows: (1) one member representing the Office of
12 the Attorney General appointed by the Attorney General; (2) one
13 member representing the Illinois Department of State Police
14 appointed by the Director of State Police; (3) one member
15 representing the Illinois Sheriffs' Association; (4) one
16 member representing the Illinois Retail Merchants Association;
17 (5) one member of the House of Representatives appointed by the
18 Speaker of the House of Representatives; (6) one member of the
19 House of Representatives appointed by the Minority Leader of
20 the House of Representatives; (7) one member representing the
21 Illinois Farm Bureau; and (8) four members representing the
22 Office of the Governor appointed by the Governor; and be it
23 further
 
24     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall choose its chair and
25 such other officers as it deems appropriate; and be it further
 
26     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall study how to curb the
27 illegal production and distribution of methamphetamine and
28 recommend to the Governor and the House of Representatives
29 proposed legislation to accomplish this purpose; and be it
30 further

1     RESOLVED, That the members of the Task Force shall receive
2 no compensation for their services as members of the Task Force
3 but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses from
4 appropriations made to the Task Force for that purpose; and be
5 it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall make its
7 recommendations to the Governor and the House of
8 Representatives within one year after the members of the Task
9 Force have been appointed.
