HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Mrs. Ann Inmon Williams of Chicago on the occasion of her retirement after 22 years of service at Olive-Harvey College; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ann Inmon Williams is currently the Assistant Dean in the Adult Education Program at Olive-Harvey College; she will be retiring after 22 years of service on June 30, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams has been a significant force behind many of the accomplishments and successes of the Adult Education Program at Olive-Harvey College; she has excellent leadership abilities and helped to establish the first union that represents adult educators within the Adult Education Program; she was also the coordinator for the Pre-Credit Programs, where she supervised the instructional process; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams has helped sponsor faculty and staff development activities which include improving the criteria for the Adult Basic Education and GED Level students and coordinating a "Community Blitz" which tremendously increased enrollment; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams has continually sought out professional development activities, both for the Adult Education Program and for the entire college by encouraging participation and attendance at conferences; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams is fondly called "Saint Ann" by many of her colleagues because of her commitment to doing the right thing and her caring and compassionate attitude toward everyone she meets; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mrs. Ann Inmon Williams on the occasion of her retirement after 22 years of service at Olive-Harvey College; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Ann Inmon Williams as an expression of our sincerest respect and esteem.
