 1                       HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

 2        BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 3    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL  ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
 4    SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that  there  is  created  the  Task
 5    Force  on  a Uniform Building Code to study the adoption of a
 6    uniform building code for the State of Illinois;  and  be  it
 7    further

 8        RESOLVED,  That  the  task  force  shall  consist  of the
 9    following: two legislative members  from  each  caucus;  four
10    individuals from the building trades: plumbers, electricians,
11    sheetmetal  workers, and carpenters; one structural engineer;
12    and one member from  each  of  the  following:  the  Illinois
13    Municipal  League,  the Northwest Municipal Conference, Metro
14    Counties, the Illinois Council of  Code  Administrators,  the
15    Home   Builders   Association   of   Illinois,  the  Illinois
16    Association of Realtors,  the  insurance  industry,  and  the
17    banking  industry; one member of the House of Representatives
18    and one member of the Senate shall serve as co-chairs of  the
19    task force; and be it further

20        RESOLVED,  That  the  task force shall meet at least four
21    times while the General Assembly is in recess and report  any
22    findings  and  recommendations  to  the  General  Assembly by
23    January 31, 2004.
