 1        AN ACT concerning utilities.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Public  Utilities  Act  is  amended  by
 5    changing Section 5-105 as follows:

 6        (220 ILCS 5/5-105) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 5-105)
 7        Sec. 5-105.  Audits and inspections.  The Commission  may
 8    provide  for  the  examination and audit of all accounts, and
 9    all items shall be allocated to the accounts  in  the  manner
10    prescribed  by  the Commission. The officers and employees of
11    the Commission shall have authority under  the  direction  of
12    the  Commission  to  inspect  and  examine any and all books,
13    accounts, papers, records and memoranda kept by  such  public
14    utilities.
