Amends the Counties Code. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning setting restrictions on the reduction of the size of a county.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT in relation to county government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section 1-2004 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/1-2004) (from Ch. 34, par. 1-2004)

Sec. 1-2004. Restriction. No county shall be reduced, under the provisions of this Division, to less contents than 400 square miles; nor shall any county line be made to pass within less than 10 ten miles of the county seat of the county from which territory is so transferred.
