SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
70 ILCS 705/11h new

    Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Authorizes the board of trustees of a fire protection district to fix, charge, and collect fees not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service for all services rendered by the district against any person convicted of the offense of possession of explosives or explosive or incendiary devices, pursuant to Section 20-2 of the Criminal Code of 1961, in connection with a fire caused by the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. Requires all revenue generated from those fees to be deposited into the general fund of the fire protection district.

1     AN ACT concerning fire protection.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by
5 adding Section 11h as follows:
 
6     (70 ILCS 705/11h new)
7     Sec. 11h. Charge for services rendered; fires caused by
8 illegal manufacture of methamphetamine.
9     (a) The board of trustees of a fire protection district may
10 fix, charge, and collect fees not exceeding the reasonable cost
11 of the service for all services rendered by the district
12 against any person convicted of the offense of possession of
13 explosives or explosive or incendiary devices, pursuant to
14 Section 20-2 of the Criminal Code of 1961, in connection with a
15 fire caused by the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine.
16     (b) All revenue from the charges assessed pursuant to this
17 Section shall be deposited into the general fund of the fire
18 protection district.
