SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/9-101

from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 9-101

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning rates.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning public utilities.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing Section 9-101 as follows:

(220 ILCS 5/9-101) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 9-101)

Sec. 9-101. All rates or other charges that are made, demanded or received by any product or commodity furnished or to be furnished or for any service rendered or to be rendered shall be just and reasonable. Every unjust or unreasonable charge that are made, demanded or received for such product or commodity or service is hereby prohibited and declared unlawful. All rules and regulations that are made by a public utility affecting or pertaining to its charges to the public shall be just and reasonable.
