SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/143.05 new

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that commercial liability policies that provide coverage to additional insureds must provide coverage to the person or organization shown on the policy or endorsement schedule with respect to liability arising out of the named insured's work for the additional insured and for the acts or omissions of the additional insured in connection with its general supervision of the named insured's work. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning insurance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 143.05 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/143.05 new)

Sec. 143.05. Commercial liability insurance; additional insured. Any policy or endorsement to provide coverage to an additional insured shall provide coverage to such person or organization shown on the policy or endorsement schedule with respect to liability arising out of the named insured's work for the additional insured by or for the named insured and the acts or omissions of the additional insured in connection with its general supervision of the named insured's work.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
