Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning Medicaid payments to nursing homes.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning long-term care funding.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by changing Section 5-5.2 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/5-5.2) (from Ch. 23, par. 5-5.2)

Sec. 5-5.2. Payment.

(a) All Skilled Nursing Facilities that are grouped pursuant to Section 5-5.1 of this Code Act shall receive the same rate of payment for similar services. All Intermediate Care Facilities that are grouped pursuant to Section 5-5.1 of this Code Act shall receive the same rate of payment for similar services.

(b) It shall be a matter of State policy that the Illinois Department shall utilize a uniform billing cycle throughout the State for the following long-term care providers: skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities, and intermediate care facilities for persons with a developmental disability. The Illinois Department shall establish billing cycles on a calendar month basis for all long-term care providers no later than July 1, 1992.
