SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
210 ILCS 40/10   from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4160-10

    Amends the Life Care Facilities Act. Provides that each resident of a life care facility is entitled to receive from the provider of services under a life care contract a copy of the provider's proposed annual budget that is used by the provider as a basis for an increase in the monthly fees to be charged the resident.

1     AN ACT concerning health facilities.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Life Care Facilities Act is amended by
5 changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6     (210 ILCS 40/10)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4160-10)
7     Sec. 10. Copy of proposed budget; audit.
8     (a) Each resident is entitled to receive from the provider
9 a copy of the provider's proposed annual budget that is used by
10 the provider as a basis for any increase in the monthly fees to
11 be charged the resident. The copy of the budget must set forth,
12 by line item, all revenues and expenses for the provider's
13 following fiscal year. The provider must furnish copies of the
14 proposed budget to residents within 30 days after the provider
15 adopts the proposed budget and before the provider implements
16 an increase of any monthly fee.
17     (b) The Director or his authorized designee may conduct an
18 audit or other examination of the financial affairs of any
19 provider as often as he deems it necessary for the protection
20 of the interests of the residents and the people of this State,
21 and for this purpose shall have access to the books, records,
22 financial data and other documents maintained by the facility.
