 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4                              ARTICLE 1

 5        Section  5.  The following named sums, or so much thereof
 6    as may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the  objects  and
 7    purposes  hereinafter  named,  are  appropriated  to meet the
 8    ordinary  and  contingent  expenses  of  the  Illinois   Arts
 9    Council:
10    Payable from the General Revenue Fund:
11      For Personal Services ........................ $  1,161,000
12      For Employee Retirement Contributions
13       Paid by Employer ............................       46,400
14      For State Contributions to State
15       Employees' Retirement Contributions .........      156,100
16      For State Contributions to

28        Section 10.  The following named sums, or so much thereof
29    as  may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the  objects and
30    purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to the  Illinois

 1    Arts Council to enhance the cultural environment in Illinois:
 2    Payable from General Revenue Fund:
 3      For Grants and Financial Assistance for
 4       Arts Organizations ..........................   $6,099,400
 5      For Grants and Financial Assistance for
 6       Special Constituencies ......................    2,235,600
 7      For Grants and Financial Assistance for
 8       Arts Education ..............................    1,445,300
 9        Total                                          $9,780,300

10    Payable from Illinois Arts Council
11     Federal Grant Fund:
12      For Grants and Programs to Enhance
13       the Cultural Environment ......................$   675,000

14        Section 15.  The sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as
15    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
16    Fund to the Illinois Arts Council for the purpose of  funding
17    administrative  and grant expenses associated with humanities
18    programs and related activities.

19        Section 20.  The amount of $380,000, or so  much  thereof
20    as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
21    Fund  to  the  Illinois  Arts  Council  for grants to certain
22    public radio and television stations for operating costs.

23        Section 25.  The amount of $4,904,200, or so much thereof
24    as may be necessary is appropriated from the General  Revenue
25    Fund  to  the  Illinois  Arts  Council  for grants to certain
26    public   radio   and   television   stations   and    related
27    administrative  expenses,  pursuant  to  the Public Radio and
28    Television Grant Act.

29        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act  takes  effect  on
30    July 1, 2003.
