 1        AN ACT concerning agriculture.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois AgriFIRST Program Act of 2001 is
 5    amended by changing Section 45 as follows:

 6        (505 ILCS 19/45)
 7        Sec. 45.  Certification. The Department may  develop  and
 8    implement   organic,   identity  preserved,  and  value-added
 9    certification processes and programs that guarantee  a  buyer
10    that   the   certified  Illinois  products  have  traits  and
11    qualities that warrant a premium price  or  that  warrant  an
12    increase  in  added  value.   The  Department may adopt rules
13    setting certification and licensing standards for persons  to
14    certify products under this Section.
