 1        AN ACT concerning insurance.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois Insurance  Code  is  amended  by
 5    adding Section 155.39 as follows:

 6        (215 ILCS 5/155.39 new)
 7        Sec. 155.39.  Auto insurance; application; false address.
 8        (a)  An  applicant for a policy of insurance that insures
 9    against any loss or liability resulting from or  incident  to
10    the  ownership,  maintenance, or use of a motor vehicle shall
11    not provide to the  insurer  to  which  the  application  for
12    coverage is made any address for the applicant other than the
13    address at which the applicant resides.
14        (b)  A  person  who  knowingly  violates  this Section is
15    guilty of a business offense.  The penalty is a fine  of  not
16    less than $1,001 and not more than $1,200.
